Valentina Vannicola (Tolfa, Rome, Italy, 1982) is a photographer, director, costume and set designer. After a degree in Filmology at La Sapienza University of Rome, she went on to a diploma in photography at the Scuola Romana di Fotografia.
Valentina Vannicola art: a tableau vivant
Her photographs can be included within the staged photography field, the area of contemporary photography which presents as real scenes that were created according to the dynamics of cinematography. Her images are strongly influenced by cinema and literature and her projects are focused on the transposition from a work of literature to a picture. Working on the text she sets a sort of tableau vivant where the characters of her shoots are non-professional actors.
