Here we are again together Street Art Lovers! In this article we will travel to Mexico to find the works of two Italian street artists: Sten Lex and Agostino Iacurci!
Public Art Program – Monterrey
Sten Lex and Agostino Iacurci took part in DistritoTec‘s Public Art Program, a public art programme run by the Universidad Tecnológico de Monterrey in the neighbourhoods surrounding its facilities. Some areas of the city of Monterrey are neglected and characterised by the presence of preventive security systems, the aim of the project is to make citizens feel at ease and inhabit a pleasant environment thanks to art!
Let’s discover the interventions of Agostino Iacurci and Sten Lex.
Sten Lex – Digital Landscape
In 2017, Sten and Lex gave a new dress to the Luis Elizondo Auditorium😉 The auditorium is one of the most important theatres in the city, where presidential debates are periodically held and concerts of the Metropolitan Opera of New York are broadcast.
The auditorium has given up its characteristic terracotta colour to become one of Sten Lex’s abstract compositions, obviously created using the stencil poster technique!
Digital Landscape, the composition by street artist Sten Lex, was created from a pattern that simulates a digital code and opens a reflection on the scientific and technological evolution that is changing our world.
Agostino Iacurci – Mas Fruta, Monterrey
In 2016, artist Agostino Iacurci also painted for the Public Art Program of Distrito Tec!
His intervention is called Mas Frutas and represents precisely a series of fruits. Iacurci divided the wall into colourful sectors and painted one fruit for each with his graphic style.
