Curated by Shepard Fairey, Claudio Crescentini, Federica Pirani and Wunderkammern Gallery
From 17 September to 22 November 2020, the Modern Art Gallery in Rome will host SHEPARD FAIREY / 3 DECADES OF DISSENT, an exclusive exhibition project curated by Shepard Fairey himself, one of the best known urban artists in the world, together with Claudio Crescentini, Federica Pirani and Wunderkammern Gallery.
It is a unique and unrepeatable concept, created specifically for the Gallery of Modern Art, which presents a unitary core of thirty recent unpublished graphic works (2019) by the artist with which many of his dissenting themes are retraced, including the struggle for peace and against racial violence, the defense of human and gender dignity, the protection of the environment. The exhibited works will dialogue with important works of the contemporary art collection of the Capitoline Superintendence.
The exhibition, promoted by Roma Capitale, Department of Cultural Growth, Capitoline Superintendence for Cultural Heritage and Wunderkammern Gallery, and organized in collaboration with Zètema Progetto Cultura, will be accompanied by a catalogue with texts by Maria Vittoria Marini Clarelli, Claudio Crescentini, Federica Pirani, Arianna Angelelli together with Daniela Vasta and Wunderkammern Gallery.
The initiative is part of Romarama, the cultural events program promoted by Roma Capitale.
